The Tunnel de Cointe in Liège is undergoing a significant renovation

The Tunnel de Cointe in Liège is undergoing a significant renovation, marking the second phase of a comprehensive project aimed at enhancing its safety and functionality. Following the successful completion of Phase 1 in 2023, Phase 2 continues to build on these improvements with a focus on advanced fire protection and structural integrity. Promat has played a pivotal role in this renovation, delivering 22,000 m² of PROMATECT®-T fire protection boards from its Tisselt factory. These high-performance boards are crucial for ensuring the tunnel meets stringent safety standards, providing robust fire resistance and durability. In addition to the standard fire protection boards, Promat’s workshop has contributed several Made-To-Order (MTO) components, tailored specifically for the unique requirements of the Tunnel de Cointe. These custom solutions underscore Promat’s commitment to innovation and excellence in tunnel safety. The renovation project has seen active involvement from various teams within Promat. Multiple visits to the site were organized, bringing together experts from the supply chain, customer service, testing team, and ITC. These visits facilitated a thorough understanding of the project’s progress and allowed for real-time adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes
