The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) is a new billion dollar purpose-built facility dedicated to cancer research, treatment and care. It is located in Parkville, Victoria, about 3km north of Melbourne’s city centre.
The 120,000m2 VCCC is built over 13 levels and includes two sky bridge links to nearby Royal Melbourne Hospital. The new centre will also be home to the cities world famous Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
The project architect specified easy to install enclosure systems, with minimal spatial intrusions while also creating optimum headroom wherever possible.
It was quickly discovered that PROMATECT®-L500 E&M Enclosures best fulfilled project needs to protect high voltage cables on cable trays attached to the underside of the concrete slab.
Over 500m2 of PROMATECT®-L500 in a 2, 3 and 4 sided General E&M Service Enclosures have been installed on scheduled, a successful team work between the two companies Arc Plaster and Design Inc Architects.
VCCC is a major investment in strategically important healthcare facilities. It is slated for completion in late 2016.
