Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Belgrade City Center is located in the heart of the town, right next to the National Theatre and in close proximity of the main square. Due to its great location, as well as good connections with other parts of the city, the hotel is an ideal choice for both business people and tourists. Guests have 114 rooms, a restaurant, a garage, a conference room and a fitness center at their disposal.
Construction of the hotel began in 2014, and the project included reconstruction and adaptation of the former Jugodrvo building. The task was not easy, because the space of the former office building had to be adjusted to accomodate the hotel which will operate under the name of world famous Marriott chain. Over 150 companies were part of the project and the hotel was officially opened in October 2015.
Unique architectural solutions were implemented and adapted to the existing supporting steel structure. The hotel now stands out for its attractive exterior and implemented systems that contribute to energy efficiency and functionality. The building has 8 floors (ground floor, five floors and two attics) and two underground floors (garages and technical rooms). Total gross building area is approximately 8000 m2.
Appropriate attention was paid to the safety of the facility in case of fire. Promat intumescent fire protection coatings were used to protection steel structures that stand out for their quality, reliability and durability. In order to achieve an optimum consumption of material, two types of coatings were applied - PROMAPAINT®-SC3 for elements which have a required fire resistance of 90 minutes, and PROMAPAINT®-SC4 for the elements with required fire resistance of 60 minutes. In total approx. 25500 kg of the intumescent materials was used.
