This tunnel is the longest underwater tunnel in China at 11km long under the Taihu lake with 550,000m² of concrete to be protected.

The timeline for installation was very short so our factory reacted brilliantly and programmed another shift which required recruiting more employees which is also good news for the local economy. Supply started in April 2021 and was complete by October 2021.

For fire testing China generally uses their own variation of the RABT fire curve. Initial testing was performed successfully and interestingly the client also requires that the actual supplied material is fire tested to ensure the supplied material is as tested, so each contract had its own benchmark fire test.

Promat first started communications with this project back in April 2017, so it is great to see these projects coming to fruition after this amount of time.
