Microporous insulation - Performance and reliability

Promat’s MICROTHERM© range of products has been the industry benchmark since 1961. These heavy-duty microporous materials offer the ideal combination of fire protection and high temperature insulation. Their extremely low thermal conductivity (0.021 W/m·K) and low density make them the perfect fit for applications with severe space and weight constraints.

Our microporous materials are A1 non-combustible and are extremely resistant to thermal shock and impact. They are designed specifically for use in the most demanding temperature environments. Once installed they remain stable and will provide reliable protection for many years. In the event of an accident the microporous insulation layer will protect the data stored inside the voice, data or train event recorder.

All microporous materials from Promat for Cockpit Voice Recorders and Flight Data Recorders (FDRs) are rigorously tested and certified to the most stringent aerospace standards (FAA TSO-C123c/C-124c and EUROCAE ED-112A).
