When installing PROMAFOUR® for fireplaces it is best practice to use the PROMAFOUR® studs, joint filler, and glue together as these products are all manufactured from the same raw materials. Therefore, they will expand and contract at the same rate during heat up and cool down, eliminating cracks around your fireplace. The PROMAFOUR® boards can be used with metal/wood studs, or off-the-shelf joint filler or glue but this does reduce the reliability of the overall system.
