Wu Chung House is located at 213 Queen's Road East in Wanchai, a little away from the territories central business district. The 40 floor skyscraper is home to a number of important institutions and these include the Hong Kong Department of Health, Hopewell Holdings and Hong Kong Post Office. It is named after Wu Chung, father of Gordon Wu, chairman of Hopewell Holdings, a leader developer and civil engineering firm.
Wu Chung House was completed in 1992 with a gross floor area of approximate 900,000ft2 (about 83,600m2) and includes 38 floors of high rise office space and two levels of retail arcade. At the time of construction it was one of the most modern commercial buildings in Hong Kong.
About 3,000m2 of Intumex SUPALUX® will soon be installed as 60 minute enclosure systems in the ceilings. The mock-up is approved and the whole renovation will be completed in phases by the end of 2015.
The project consultant is AGS Consultant Ltd and the main contractor is Tsang Suen Kee Building Construction Co Ltd.
