Description

Lam Research Phase 2 represents a significant investment by the chip-gear giant, Lam Research Malaysia, as it establishes a new manufacturing facility at Batu Kawan Industrial Park in Penang.

This production plant has been developed as part of Lam Research's 40th-anniversary celebrations and will become the largest facility within the entire Lam Research group. With existing manufacturing operations in the United States, Austria, and South Korea, Lam Research is pioneering the establishment of wafer fabrication equipment manufacturing in Malaysia, making it the first and only production facility of its kind in Southeast Asia. Over the next five years, Penang will evolve into the group's most substantial facility, not only in terms of capacity but also processing capability.

Applications

A total of 800,000 sqft of built-up area with structural steel elements in Lam Research Phase 2 were effectively protected with PROMAPAINT®-SC3. was completed in Quarter 4, 2022. This high-performance intumescent paint serves as a vital fire-resistant barrier, ensuring the safety and longevity of the steel components in the event of a fire.
